Aalaap started playing golf at the age of 8 and fell in love with the game instantly.He played competitive golf till the age of 14 as on of the top juniors in South India. He took time off soon after to complete his education to graduate with a B.E in Computer science and engineering, throughout which he would dream of the day he’d get to represent the country at the best tournaments around the world and later make golf his career as a professional.
After completing his education, In 2015, he got back to playing competitive golf as an amateur on the national circuit run by the Indian Golf Union, a government recognised body. In 2016, he worked his way to the top and played his first event for India which was the World cup of Amateur golf, the biggest tournament in the world for an amateur. He went on to play several more for the country till the end of 2017 and was ranked 2nd in India in 2016. He had the distinct pleasure and honour to have been supported by OIL India Limited to realise his dreams of being a top amateur in the country.
He turned pro in the year 2018 and now plays on the professional golf tour of India. His goal is to be one of the best golfers in India and to represent the country in adjacent tours around the world and eventually end up being one of the best in the world.
